The blanket
One hundred percent organic cotton and nothing else. It measures about 35 inches by 35 inches, and it is knitted double sided in two colors, so there is no wrong side: turn it over and the same name appears with the colors reversed. One name, one blanket, made once.
Making and delivery
We do not keep blankets. We keep yarn. Yours is knitted after you order and is at the door within three weeks, yours or theirs. The date above is the date that goes on your order.
Gift wrap
It arrives wrapped by hand in tissue, in its own embossed presentation box, with a care card and a certificate of making that carries your message. The price stays between us.
The date, in writing
You get a date when you order. We keep it, or 15% of the price comes back to you. We would rather be held to it.
Care
The care card explains how to wash it, store it between children and mend a pulled stitch. We wrote it assuming you will still have it in thirty years.

You check the spelling. Then we check it, because you were excited.
We knit it
For that name and no other. There is no shelf for it to come off.
We wrap it
By hand, in tissue, in its embossed box, with the care card and the certificate of making, which carries your message. Ready to hand over.
It arrives
At your door or theirs, on or before the date on your order.

How does it work?
Choose the name and colorway, then check the spelling. We knit your blanket to order, finish it by hand and wrap it in its HEIR box. From order to your door, allow three weeks.
How many letters can I use?
Up to twelve, in capitals. Hyphens and apostrophes are fine. For a longer name, get in touch before ordering and we’ll let you know if it will work beautifully within the knit.
Is the name on both sides?
Yes. The name is knitted into the blanket, never printed or embroidered onto it. Turn it over and the same design appears with the colors reversed. There is no wrong side.
What if the baby isn’t here yet, or the name is still a secret?
You can order now and send us the name when you’re ready. We’ll hold your place in our making schedule, and the three-week lead time begins once we receive the name.
Can I send it directly as a gift?
Yes. Enter their address at checkout and add a personal message. It will arrive wrapped in tissue, inside its embossed HEIR box, with no invoice or price included.
Can I return a personalized blanket?
Because every HEIR is knitted for one name, we can’t accept returns for a change of mind. If your blanket arrives damaged, or we’ve made an error, we’ll make it right.
